For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Kiel, Umbau eines Bunkers

Kostspielige "Entfestung" Seit Kriegsende wurden in Kiel wie in vielen anderen Orten Deutschlands eine grosse Anzahl Bunker als "Festungsanlagen" gesprengt. Der Rest soll jetzt nach der sogenannten "Entfestung" durch Einbrechen riesiger Fenster als industrieller Raum erhalten bleiben. Man hofft durch die Verwendung der noch vorhandenen Bunker in Kiel auf eine Nutzfläche von 35000 qm. Das Sprengen der Fensteröffnungen kostet pro Bunker rund 80.000 DM. Unser Bild zeigt den "Schützenparkbunker" in Kiel nach seinem Umbau. 24-1-49 dpd 2751-49
