For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Priefel, Bauern beim Wiegen der Milchmenge Zentralbild Illner Kno-Oun. 18.6.1953 Sowjetische Melkanlage in volkseigenen Gut Priefel. Das volkseigene Gut Priefel im Kreis Altenburg verfügt über eine elektrische Melkanlage modernster Art, die der Betrieb aus der Sowjetunion erhalten hat. Melkermeister Rolli erklärt dazu: "Die Anlage übertrifft in der Sicherheit ihrer Betriebsweise und in der Einfachheit ihrer Konstruktion alle unsere Erwartungen. Während bei den früher in Deutschland gebräuchlichen Melkanlagen durch das unnatürliche Zweitaktverfahren sehr oft Euterentzündungen enstanden und die Tiere sehr unruhig waren, ist gegen die aus der Sowjetunion gelieferte Anlage auch nicht der leiseste Einwand zu erheben. UBz: Bei der Milchleistungskontrolle. Leistungsprüfer Max Lausus kontrolliert die Menge der mit der Melkanlage gemolkenen Milch.
