For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Drahendorf, Harzer ADN-ZB Müller-5.9.1989-Zum Beitrag: Ein Harzer im Oderland. Dieter Wilde ist "Bester Harzer der DDR". Er arbeitet im Revier Drahendorf des Staatlichen Forstwirtschaftsbetriebes Fürstenwalde. In der von April bis Oktober reichenden Saison muß er täglich 1.500 der 7.500 vom ihr betreuten Harzbäume bearbeiten. Geharzt werden Kiefern, die über 80 Jahre alt sind und einen Mindestdurchmesser von 20 Zentimeern haben. Dieter Wilde gewinnt derzeit von "seinen" Bäumen pjro Jahr 20 Tonnen Harz. Als er vor sieben Jahren mit dieser Arbeit begann, waren es nur neun Tonnen. Harz, dessen Bestandteile in über 100 Erzeugnissen enthalten sind, läßt sich nicht industrieell herstellen.
