Cottbus, Theater, Kuppelfoyer ADN-ZB Weißflog 5.10.88 Cottbus: Das 80jährigeBestehen des Theaters der Stadt Cottbus wird zur Zeit mit einer Festwoche gefeiert. Der Bau, eine Schöpfung des sezesaionistischen Spätjugendstils, wurde am 6.10.1908 eingewiht. Er ist ein Werk des Berliner Architekten Bernhard Sehring (1855-1941) und steht heute unter Denkmalschutz. 1986 wurde die Kulturstätte nach umfassender Rekonstruktion wiedereröffnet. Typisch für die Handschrift des Architekten sind die nackten Glühlampen in diesem Kuppelfoyer, mit denen er eine regelrechte Lichtarchitektur schuf. (siehe auch 1986-1209-306N)
