For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Neuhaus, Wetterradarstation
ADN-ZB Schaar 17.8.88 Bez. Suhl: Den Wolken ins Innere schauen können die Mitarbeiter der neuen Wetterradarstation bei Neuhaus am Rennweg mit einem leistungsfähigen sowjetischen Radarsystem, das flächendeckende Informationen in einer Rundum-Entfernung von etwa 300 Kilometern garantiert. Die Neuhäuser Anlage komplettiert das aus nunmehr vier Stationen bestehende Radarnetz des Meteorologischen Dienstes der DDR. Siehe auch 1988-0817-23N. Eine Station nimm außerdem Umweltschutzaufgaben wahr und kontrolliert im Rahmen eines mittleren luftchemischen Programms den Schadstoffgehalt der Atmosphäre. Die Meßwerde werden zur weitreen Verarbeitung an das meteorologische Observatorium bei Dresden übermittelt. |
