Berlin, Friedrichstraße, Metropol Theater ADN-ZB Uhlmann-29.4.87-pre-Berlin: Metropol-Theater - Das Metropol-Theater ist die hauptstädtische Musikbühne, in der Operetten und Musicals zur Aufführung gelangen. Neben der Pflege der Perettenklassik und der bedeutendsten Operetten des 20. Jahrhunderts präsentiert sich auch das internationale Musical mit seinen besten Werken. Besonders Aufmerksamkeit wird im Spielplan dem zeitgenössischen Schaffen von Autoren und Komponisten aus der DDR und den anderen sozialistischen Ländern gewidmet. 1898 in der Behrenstraße eröffnet (dem heutigen Haus der komische Oper), verbinden sich mit der Geschichte des Metropol-Theaters bis zu seiner Zerstörung im Zweiten Weltkrieg eine Reihe weltbekannter Komponisten- und Künstlernamen. Seit 1955 hat das Metropol-Theater sein Domizil im ehemaligen Admiralspalast am Bahnhof Friedrichstraße. In desem Haus fand am 21.-22. April 1946 der Vereinigungsparteitag von KPD und SPD zur Sozialistischen Einheitspartei Deutschland statt. - siehe auch 1987-0429-19 bis 23N
