For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Stadtgericht, Haupttreppenhaus ADN-ZB Zimmermann 26.2.87 Berlin: Das Haupttreppenhaus des Berliner Stadtgerichts in der Littenstraße - eine Verbindung von Jugendstil und Elementen des böhmischen Barock - gehört zu den eindrucksvollsten Schöpfungen seiner Art und bildet das architektonische Kernstück des Komplexes. Der Bau wurde in den Jahren 1896-1905 als Amtsgericht errichtet. Doppelläufige geschwungene Treppenaufgänge führen an den beiden Längsseiten der überkuppelten Pfeilerhalle zu den einzelnen Korridoren.
