ADN-ZB-Oberst 3.12.86 Bob- und Rennschlittenbahn in Altenberg erlebte Premiere
Die "Rennschlitten-und Bobbahn Altenberg" am Fuße des Erzgebirges, im vergangenen Jahr als zweite Kunsteisanlage der DDR eröffnet, erlebte am 29.-30.11.86 ihre internationale Wettkampfpremiere als Austragungsort der ersten Station der Europäischen Drei-Bahnen-Tournee im Rennschlittensport. Sie ist die achte künstlich vereiste kombinierte Rennschlitten- und Bobbahn der Welt. Die Bahn hat eine Gesamtlänge von 1 668 Metern einschließlich des 235 Meter langen Bremshanges, ist mit 17 Kurven ausgestattet und weist einen Höhenunterschied von 122 Metern auf. Die besten Fahrer erreichen Spitzengeschwindigkeiten von 120 km-h. Entlang der 1 413 Meter langen Wettkampfstrecke wurden auch günstige Zuschauerplätze eingerichtet.
