For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Abtransport von Bruchholz ADN-ZB Schaar 3.12.1985 Bez. Suhl: Bruchholz nahezu aufbereitet- Millionen junger Bäume wachsen auf den wiederaufgeforsteten Flächen im Thüringer Wald heran. Etwa 6.000 Hektar sind während der vergangenen drei Jahre im Bezirk Suhl bepflanzt worden. Rund fünfzig Millionen Nadel- und Laubbäume begründen jetzt einen neuen Wald in Gebieten, die von den Schneebruchschäden des Winters 1981-82 besonders stark betroffen waren. Wiederholte Nachbrüche verursacht durch die verlichteten und damit schutzlos gewordenen Bestände, ließen des Gesamtschaden auf eine Menge von rund fünf Millionen Kubikmeter Bruchholz anwachsen. Durch den unermüdlichen Fleiß der Forstarbeiter in sieben Betrieben des Bezirkes, unterstützt von zahlreichen Helfern konnte der Schaden nahezu beseitigt werden. Forstarbeiter des Staatlichen Forstwirtschaftsbetriebes Suhl fahren mit einem Kamas das Bruch-Langholz aus dem Wald.
