For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Elbbrücke "Blaues Wunder" ADN-ZB Hiekel 9.4.85 Dresden: Brückenrekonstruktion- Die Dresdner Hängebrücke, weithin unter dem Namen "Blaues Wunder" bekannt, ist ab 9.4. für den Straßenverkehr gesperrt. Das technische Denkmal aus dem Jahre 1893 wird bis 1987 umfangreich rekonstruiert. Im Mai 1945 hatten mutige Bürger die Sprengung des Bauwerkes durch SS-Einheiten verhindert. Die Stahlkonstruktion der Brücke hängt zwischen zwei Pfeilern 141,5 Meter frei über der Elbe.
