For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Überseehafen, LKWs, Güterwaggons, Frachter ADN-ZB Sindermann 11.7.84-mei - Rostock: Entstanden in der DDR - Von der ersten Hieve zum modernen Seeumschlagsplatz - Für viele Produkte der DDR-Industrie ist der Überseehafen das "Tor zur Welt". Von hier aus bestehen Verbindungen zu 400 Häfen aller Kontinente. Zugleich ist er die Heimat für 173 Schiffe der Handelsflotte. Seit der ersten Hieve am 30.4.1960 haben 56 700 Schiffe aus 65 Staaten rund 249, 7 Millionen Tonnen Güter umgeschlagen. - siehe auch 1984-0711-2 u. 3N sowie 66 511-2N
