Leipzig, Bach-Denkmal ADN-ZB Gahlbeck 19.5.1984 Leipzig: Austragungsort des 7. Bach-Wettbewerbs-Das Bach-Denkmal, 1908 von Prof. Carl Seffner geschaffen, befindet sich vor der Thomaskirche in Leipzig. Johann Sebastian Bach lebte und wirkte von 1723 bis zu seinem Tode 1750 in Leipzig. Als Kantor war der große Komponist in der Thomaskirche tätig. Während des 7. Internationalen Bach-Wettbewerbs, der vom 20. Mai bis 4. Juni ausgetragen wird, stellen traditionsgemäß junge Organisten in der Thomaskirche ihr Können unter Beweis. (siehe auch 1 und 2N)
