For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, VEB Elektrokohle Lichtenberg, Elektroköhler ADN-ZB Zimmermann 2.4.84 Berlin: Junge Elektroköhler-Aufmerksamer Anlagenfahrer an der teilautomatisierten Graphit-Elektrodenlinie im VEB Elektrokohle Lichtenberg, die die Jugendbrigade "Deutsch-bulgarische Freundschaft" der Elektrodendreherei im vergangenen Jahr als Jugendobjekt übernommen hat, ist Michael Neumann - hier am Steuerpult. Auf der hochproduktiven Anlage werden dreischichtig Graphit-Elektroden für die Stahlproduktion gedreht und gefräst. Das Sortiment reicht von 15 Kilogramm schweren Elektroden bis zu solchen mit über 300 Kilogramm Masse. Das Jugendkollektiv, es wurde 1983 mit dem Titel "Hervorragende Jugendbrigade der DDR" ausgezeichnet, kämpft um eine hohe Auslastung der Anlage und um kurze Umrüstzeiten. Die Fertigung an der Linie erbringt eine um rund 6 Prozent höhere Arbeitsproduktivität und erleichtert den Elektroköhlern ihre bisher körperlich schwere Arbeit wesentlich. - siehe auch 1984-0402-18, 20, 21, 22N -
