For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Neustädter Markt, Straße der Befreiung, Wohnblocks ADN-ZB Häßler 8.2.83 Dresden: Der Neustädtische Markt und die Straße der Befreiung sind nach ihrer großzügigen und architektonisch gelungenen Neugestaltung zum bevorzugten Bummel- und Einkaufsziel der Dresdner und ihrer Gäste geworden. Dieser Stadtteil war ursprünglich um 1730 angelegt worden. Nach der verheerenden Bombennacht vom 13. Februar 1945 glich auch diese Gegend einem Trümmermeer. (siehe 5N)
