For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild Illner Me-Ba. 6.8.1952 Zum "Dienst für Deutschland" bereit. Maschinenschlosserlehrling Werner Kleinhens vom RAW-Einheit in Leipzig will sich nach Beendigung seiner Lehrzeit für 6 Monate zum "Dienst für Deutschland" verpflichten. Er erklärte: "Um den Sozialismus aufzubauen brauchen wir noch viele Helfer und in der ersten Reihe wird die Jugend stehen. In den Volksdemokratien ist der Anteil der Jugend beim Aufbau des Sozialismus schon viel grösser als bei uns. Der tschechoslowakische Film "Die grosse Gelegenheit", den ich schon im Frühjahr dieses Jahres gesehen habe, zeigte, wie dort die Jugendbrigaden am Aufbau ihrer Heimat mithelfen. Dieser Film ist ein lebendiges Beispiel für alle jungen Deutschen. Durch eine gute Überzeugungsarbeit werden sich viele Freunde dem "Dienst für Deutschland" anschliessen. Mein Ziel ist es, Lokführer zu werden und meine Ausbildung wird auch im "Dienst für Deutschland" weitergehen." |
