For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Feldmarschallsaal
Nach dem Willen des Kaiserlichen Bauherrn soll der Saal den Werdegang unserer geschichtlichen Entwicklung und die militärischen Tugenden vor Augen führen, welche unsere großen Heerführer zu Taten befähigten. Die Wände sind durch Reliefs des Bildhauers Pfuhl, den Krieg 1870/71 darstellend, sowie Portraits der preußischen Könige und deutschen Kaiser, sowie aller Feldmarschälle der brandenburgisch-preußischen Armee verziert. Eine besondere Sehenswürdigkeit ist der hier aufbewahrte Degen Napoleons I., der nach der Schlacht von Belle-Alliance erbeutet wurde.
