For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
English: The double "piston rings" on both cuffs (of sleeves) on the uniform jacket identify the carrier of the uniform as soldier of the German Wehrmacht (with the rank of Oberfeldwebel (OR-7)) in the position of a "Hauptfeldwebel" or "Spiess" (company sergeant).
