Peter- und Paul-Kirche Die Evangelische Pfarrkirche zu St. Peter und Paul wurde erbaut 1225-1230, erweitert 1423 als fünfschiffige gotische Hallenkirche. Sie ist seit Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts protestantisch. Sie gehört mit ihrer freien schlanken Pfeilerstellung und einheitlich ausgeführten Wölbung der Größe, wie der Raumwirkung nach zu den bedeutensten Kirchen Ostdeutschlands. In ihrer Raumwirkung dem Dom von Bautzen und der Pfarrkirche in Camenz/Sachsen nahe verwandt. Sie liegt mit ihrem westlichen Teile auf der höchsten Erhebung des ehemaligen Burgberges. Die 3 Mittelschiffe liegen unter einem gemeinsamen Satteldache, das einen im Provil schön und scharf geschnittenen Barock-Dachreiter trägt. |
