Iro THE WRYNECK. lynx torqnilla L. The Wryneck, like some other migratory species, seems toarrive singly or in very small parties. It appears to havelanded on the south-eastern portion of the coast, for, with theexception of a single bird killed at the Portland Bill light onthe 15th of April, it was not recorded from Cornwall, Devonor Dorset. On the night of April the loth five were killed at St. Ca-therines light, Hants, but, with the exception of these, noothers were recorded from the lights. The earliest records were received from Suffolk and Hertson the 26 th of March, and between that date and the end ofthe month single birds were noted in Hants, Sussex, Kentand Monmouth. On the 1st of April single individuals were reported fromBerks and Leicester respectively; on the 2nd two werenoted in Somerset, and single individuals were seen inSurrey and Worcester on the 4th and in Denbigh on the 6th.
