611 isomeren Dinitrohalogen- sowie Nitrodihalogen-Phenole (1:2:4:6) iintersucht und die Resultate unten zusammengestellt. Die Analysen der Mononitrophenolsalze warden durch die des m - Nitrophenolsalzes erganzt, wobei es sich herausgestellt hat, daC man die Resultate der Addition von NH3 an diese Phenole den Resultaten der Addition von HCl an Nitraniline direkt gegeniiber- stellen kann. Die negative Nitrogruppe begunstigt am meisten die Addition von Ammoniak an Nitrophenol in dieser Stellung, in wel- cher sie die Addition von Chlorwasserstoff an Nitranilin am meisten hindert ^). Dinitrophenole wurden schon im I. Teil besprochen; an Stelle der Dihalogenphenole, deren Eigenschaft. kleine Mengen von Feuchtigkeit hartnackig zu binden, bekannt ist^), wurden Dihalo- genkresole untersueht. Auch eine Reihe von nitrierten Naphtholen wurde in den Bereich der Untersuchungen gezogen. Es moge hier erwahnt werden, daI5 1.6-Dinitronaphthol (2) glatt 2 Mol. Ammoniak bei gewohnlicher Temperatur absorbiert, wogegen 2,4-Dinitrona- phthol (1) unter gleichen Bedingungen nur 1 Molekill bindet. Diese Erscheinung findet ihre Erklarung in der Kaufler'schen steriscben Naphthalinformel ^):

-wobei Stellung 1 und 6 einer Art von diortho-Substitution des Hy- droxyls bewirken. welche, wie bereits ausgeflihrt, bei Dinitropheno- len den starksten EinfluB auf die anormale Salzbildung besitzt. Den bei substituierten Phenolen erhaltenen Resultaten werden manehe auf substituierte Benzoesauren sich beziehende Messungen angereiht. Es war bis jetzt unmoglich, aul letzterem Gebiete so viel GesetzmaCigkeit wie bei Phenolen aufzufinden; dazu ware es *) Die beiden anderen Stellungen lassen auch einen direkten Vergleich zu.
