[edit]DescriptionBulletin 799 Plate 6B Closely folded Antietam Schist.jpg |
English: Figure caption: Closely folded Antietam Schist, roadcut on east side of Oak Hill. The folded bedding is outlined by quartz veins and cut at a steep angle by schistosity dipping northwest. Description of the photo from the text of the Bulletin: (The outcrop)...on the southwest limb of the Oak Hill anticline shows northwest schistosity brought out by weathering across the crumpled bedding outlined by quartz injection, which may be related in origin to the post-Cambrian batholith. |
