Description

On the way back from Maligne Canyon, we spotted this huge majestic animal just peeking around in a clearing. I've never seen a bull elk or any deer with antlers before, so this was quite something for me. He was mulling around behind this bush and eventually came out and grazed for a bit. Certainly a sight to behold.

After some experience with the Canon 6D and 70-300mm L combo at airshows, I had no doubt in my mind that snagging this photo wasn't going to be a problem. The auto-focus was quick and true and the sensor performed beautifully allowing a good crop.
