BULETINUL SOCIETĂŢII DE SCIINŢE 145 dite lineaire, ne suit pas la ligne clroite que par son ensemble, par sa ligne moyenne, Ies carbones etant, alternativement, situes a droite et â gauche, ou avec une valeure angulaire quelconque entre eux. On doit observer que Ies carbones des metyles terminaux sortent de ce plan. Mais en mame temps la chaine lineaire, du moment qu'elle a six atomes de carbone, peut former de mems un cercle, lequel pour Ies chaines a nC peut se repeter plusieurs fois, dans Ies conditions d'une spirala, a raison d'une spire pour chaque six atomes de carbones. On obtient une spire telle que la suivante, dans laquelle Ies ex- tremites sont constituees par un methyl—CH3, et Ies anneaux de la chaînepar—CHg—.

Si, maintenant, on considn-e un anneau quelconque de la chaine, —CHg—, pris par exemple vers le milieu de celle-ci, et lequel serait limite â droite et a gauche, par plusieurs spires, ii se pour- rait qu'il fonctionne d'une manisre identique â celui d'une chaine fermee de la serie Cn H2n. Du reste, Ies hydrocarbures de la serie Cn H2n-;-2, tendent, au point de vue de leur teneur en carbone et hydrogane pour cent, vers une limite, laquelle represente la serie Cn H2n, tant la diffe- rence creee par Ies deux hydrogenes en plus, des deux m^thyls terminaux, peut encore influencer, par rapport au poid molecu- laire total de plus en plus grand.
