Cette absence de membre locomoteur ne paraissait gener en aucune faţon notre poisson, et ce dernier, que j'ai conserve et observe assez longtemps dans un aquarium, se mouvait aussi facilem.ent et rapi- dement que ses confreres de meme taille. Enfm, desireux d'etudier le phe- nomene de plus preş, je sacri- fiai l'individu en no\'embre pour en faire l'anatomie. La nageoire pectorale du Si- lurus glanis est situez sur Ia pa-' roi posterieure de l'ouverture branchiale, preş de son bord su- perieur, elle est assez developpee et affecte la forme d'un losange dont un des angles aigus tron- ques est attache contre le corps.
