CURRIE BROS.. MILWAUKEE, WIS.
Winter Flowering and Ornamental Plants.
The plants we offer here are those especially adapted for the decoration of the parlor or conservatory
during the winter or spring months, and we are careful to send out none but those in good health and first-
class condition. All plants are carefully packed
according to the season of the year, to insure
b^? .i-»-t their safe delivery' to any part of the country.
Asparagus.
Very pretty and graceful Fern-like plants,
rivaling in beauty even the delicate Maiden Hair
Fern. When cut for bouquets, the sprays have
much greater persistency than any Fern, retain-
ing their freshness in water from three to four
weeks. Few plants are more ornamental, and
none more useful. They are excellent house
plants, and succeed well with ordinary care.
Plumosus Nanus, better known perhaps as
Asparagus Fern— An excellent pot plant.
Foliage bright green, very graceful and so deli-
cate it has all the appearance of finely woven silk
lace. Plants in 2 l 2 inch pots, each, 15c; $1.50
per dozen. Strong plants in 3 *i inch pots, 25c
each: $2.50 per dozen.
Sprengerii — A new species, possessing more
than ordinary merit, and quite distinct from the
old sorts. It is remarkable for the beauty and
delicacy of its rich green drooping fronds, which
frequently attain a length of 4 feet, making it a
most useful plant for decorative purposes, espec-
ially when grown in a hanging basket. (See cut.)
It succeeds admirably in the house in almost any
position, withstanding well a dry atmosphere.
The fronds, when cut keep fresh a long time.
Plants in 2.% inch pots, 15 cts. each; per dozen,
$1.50: in 3j4 inch pots, each, 25c; per dozen,
S2.50 ; in 4 inch pots, 35c ; in 5 inch pots, 50c :
in 6 inch pots, 75c Larger specimens, $1.00
Tf "*• to $2.00 each.
Asparagus Tenuissi-
mus — A strikingly beautiful
climbing variety of rare mer-
it. Plants in 2% inch pots,
each, 15c: perdoz.. $1.50.
Strong Plants in 2i%. inch
pots, each, 25c; per dozen,
$2.50.
ARAUCARIA.
Norfolk Island Pine or Xmas Tree Palm.
An admirable house plant
of very easy culture, perhaps
the most satisfactory we have
ever offered. The graceful,
plume-like dark green foli-
age, arranged in whorls or
tiers as shown in the illus-
tration, renders it a most at-
tractive and pleasing object.
As a dining table ornament it
has few, if any, equals. It is,
moreover, so hardy that the
dry air, dust and other con-
ditions of the ordinary living
room usually so unfavorable
to plant culture have appar-
ently no deleterious effect
upon it.
Excelsa— A very popular
variety. Foliage deep green;
compact.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
