Description

Bellingham is building a new creek. Looks kind of fake now. Fake stumps and so forth. Eventually, it will look "natural."

It's the day lighting of Padden Creek along Old Fairhaven Parkway. Over 100 years ago, the creek was diverted to a tunnel and now the creek is being put back on the surface for salmon habitat. Tunnel will be kept for flood capacity. I bike by quite often an watch the progress. This picture from October 11 2015. Creek was placed into the new channel on October 9.
