Summary

[edit]
Description

A new maternity ward being built in Rwamwanja refugee settlement. The Uganadan ministry of health is expanding health services to cater for the influx of refugees. originally just a small primary health centre with very limited capacity, the health facilities are now being upgraded to include 3 in-patient wards, a maternity unit and a small surgical capacity and more staff to manage these. Without this the only option is a 120km round trip to Fort portal hospital. On average there are five births per day in Rwamwanja.
