The sun was shiningin all its resplendent glory on as beautiful a scene as the eye needview. The exposition buildings and the landscape architecturereflected the warm efYulgent rays of a fading-summtT sun whichcould light up no more charming spectacle in all the world. Theturn stiles at the gates were kept busy registering the people whocame, and by night-time the total was i 16,000, a larger numberthan had attended in a single day since the opening of the fair.The people were in holiday attire and flags were flying from everystaff and pinnacle, making a panorama of life and beauty rareto behold.
