Description

Buffalo (correctly referred to as bison) corral posts dot the Trans-Catalina Trail along with healthy clusters of cacti and other native plants.

Crows perch atop the posts and wedge prickly pears into the wood, allowing them to peck the fruit inside.

On the previous day, I was charged by Bison and was only able to extract myself from the situation after five repeats of the same charge. Keep your distance! Bison are wild animals. I learned my lesson; do not underestimate how much room you need to leave between you and the herd.
