Buddleja globosa: closeup of single globular flower cluster

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Closeup of a single globular flower cluster of the South American Buddleja globosa, native to Chile and Argentina and grown widely as a large, ornamental, garden shrub in temperate zones. The orange ‘pompoms’ are not only attractive in colour, but also subtly scented, proving most attractive to bee and hoverfly species (and also, doubtless to butterflies - like the elongate, purple flower clusters of the commoner (and more weedy/invasive ) Chinese species B. davidii).
