Day after day the hitherto despised andneglected flower found herself surrounded by a group ofadmiring artists, whose one idea was to draw her asartistically as possible. Her different aspects were studied under every moodof the day and of nature, on bright or cloudy or rainydays. They watched her in the soft light of the morningsunshine, in the dazzling brilliance of the noon, and againwhen the shadows of the evening fell athwart
