English: Famous Budhasubba temple located in Dharan sub-metropolitan ward no. 14 of Sunsari district. This temple is located near Bansbari of Bijaypur Danda in Dharan. There are various other temples on the way to this temple. Inside this temple are four pillars of clay. That is why it is called Budhasubba Bhagwan. Here the devotees make extreme sacrifices to fulfill their desires. There is a lot of blood in front of the door. The 3 heaps behind it are considered to be the head of Budhasubba. At the back is a statue. This place is believed to be the deity of Budhasubba. There are many hours hanging here.
In this temple, there are priests of Magar and Rai castes. Legend has it that Budhasubba Rai was a perfect man of Magar caste. He used to hunt with a slingshot. It is said that this place has become a holy place of pilgrimage as he was buried by burying the slingshot on the ground after coming to this place while hunting. The bamboo trees near this temple are said to have grown from the wood of the slingshot he had buried. There is a belief that there is no bamboo tip here as there is no tip of the slingshot. According to the legend, after the mythical Dronacharya refused to accept Eklavya as his disciple, Eklavya stayed at this place and practiced archery from bamboo and was buried by burying his bow. There is a legend that the tip of the buried bow grew into a bamboo tree. This place has the characteristic of not having crows. A big fair is held in this temple on the day of Baishakh Punirma. According to historians, Sen is also said to be the tomb of King Kamadatta Sen's minister Buddhakarna Rai. According to Akro, during the reign of Sen dynasty, Khomad G. Rana was called Budhasubba. It is believed that the name of this place was changed to Budhasubba after him. Devotees also tie colorful ropes to the bamboo trees here. |
