Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Sen. John Thune speaks with Frank W. Buckles during testimony Dec. 3, before the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, subcommittee on national parks. Buckles was 107 years old, and was the last living World War I veteran from the United States. Buckles and Thune were testifying in support of the "Frank Buckles World War I Memorial Act," which would rededicate an existing war memorial in Washington, D.C. as a national memorial -- creating for the first time a national memorial that commemorates World War I veterans.
