Description

BOND in MOTION 50 Vehicles. 50 Years

Quantum of Solace - Daniel Craig

Indigenous Boat The boat you can see here appeared in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace. In the sequence in which the boat was used, the villain, Greene 'gifts' Bond girl Camille into General Medrano's custody. Bond intervenes by flying a motorcycle onto the boat in an attempt to rescue Camille from the General. This leads to a gunfight at high speeds on choppy water before Bond finally throws off the pursuit in a dramatic water chase scene. Although it appears to be driven by Bond in the film, the real steerage is hidden within the boat where a stunt driver is concealed.

On the banks of Beaulieu River the maritime village of Buckler’s Hard allows visitors to step back in time to the 18th century and discover the important role that Buckler’s Hard played in Britain’s shipbuilding history.

The re-designed Maritime Museum offers a new interpretation of Buckler's Hard and the Beaulieu River, focusing on its ships which have been the inspiration for a wealth of art, literature and films whilst The Buckler's Hard Story with its reconstructed cottage interiors and the Shipwright's Cottage on the village street, give you an insight into what village life was like at Buckler's Hard in the 18th century.

For those who wish to take in the peace and natural beauty of the Beaulieu Estate a trip on the Beaulieu River (available from April to October at an additional charge) or walk through the picturesque woodlands provides the opportunity to see the abundant wildlife.
