Buckle with plate (probable spur)
Description
English: Medieval Buckle with integral plate, pin missing. Oval frame, projection on both sides at junction of plate and frame. D-section, parallel-sided frame with pin hole, two rivets, and low square boss at attachment edge from which projects a scroll or rolled-up hook. Traces of gilding. The profile is quite straight. Possibly for use with a spur (Dress Access. 78, fig.48. length 37mm, width of frame 13mm. 13th – 14th century.
