Title
buckle plate
Description
English: A crudely made cast copper alloy Medieval buckle plate. The buckle is missing. Rectangular in plan and decorated with an etched zig-zag pattern in two halves. Three crudely amde rivet holes sit un-equally spaced along the centre. One rivet hoe is cut, the other two have been pushed through from thereverse, leaving the copper alloy raised. The edges have not been cut straight. The uneven edges suggest that this is a buckle plate which has been modified and re-used as a belt fitting.
