Buckle or Brooch pin
Description
English: An incomplete corroded Medieval copper-alloy annular buckle pin or possibly a brooch pin (c. 1350-c.1400).

The loop is incomplete. The tapering shaft is sub-oval in cross-section and the loop is similar in cross-section. On the upper face, between the shaft and loop, there is a parallel transverse ridge. This pin has a matt greyish green patina

Length: 49.58mm; width: 4.87mm;. Weight: 5.4g.

A similar buckle pin from archaeological excavations in London has been dated c.1350-1400 (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 116, fig. 75, ref: 547).
