Title
buckle frame
Description
English: A Medieval cast copper alloy buckle frame fragment with a zoomorphic terminal. It is part of a circular frame which is incomplete due to old breaks, and only half of it survives. The broken edges of the frame show a recess for a central pin. The frame extends into a curved strip at one end, which tapers to a point resembling a bird's head and beak. There are remains of gilding across the object. It measures 28.34mm in surviving length, 19.75mm in width (or diameter) across the frame, and weighs 3.02g. A similar buckle has been recorded, see DENO-186772.
