Title
Buckle annular front
Description
English: An incomplete Late Medieval to Early Post-Medieval (1450-1550) copper alloy double-loop annular buckle frame, missing its pin. The outer edge is scalloped in the form of a five-petalled flower. The strap bar is central and corrosion on the frame suggests that the missing pin was made of iron.

The buckle has a diameter of 31 mm, and weighs 5.7 g.

Similar buckles can be found illustrated in Whitehead (1996, 47; refs. 272-274) and Margeson (1993, 29; ref. 157), where they are dated to the late medieval/early post-medieval periods (c.1450-1550 AD).
