Buckle Plate from Binbrook
Description
English: Copper alloy book clasp made from two sheet plates, that on the display face larger than the other, with a narrowed hook at one short end. The plates are riveted to each other (and to the strap) by a pair of centrally placed copper-alloy rivets of diameter 2.0mm and 2.5mm. The larger plate bears an incised line border with intermittent notching along its long edges.

Length: 21.7mm, Height: 14.1mm, Thickness (of sheets): 1.1mm, Weight: 3.02g. Probably early post-medieval, 16th century.
