Description |
English: An incomplete cast copper alloy double loop sub-rectangular buckle. The separate centre bar and pin are missing. The frame is trapeziodal in cross section , with chamfered inner edges on the rear. The ends of the frame are rounded with an internal lip. The ling sides are thickened with a semi-circular expansion on each side on the rear at the mid point. These are drilled with circular holes to accomodate the missing centre bar. The frame is decorated on the long sides with moulded and knurled transverse ridges (four on each side) between incised swags. Reference:Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar buckle on page 102, No.655 |
