Description
English: Cast copper alloy buckle, oval with a diamond-shaped section. Bar off-set, round-sectioned bar its ends flanked by neatly moulded projections. Front of buckle thickened and marked by two deep mouldings each containing a transverse rib, central notch for the pin. This decoration is present on both faces of the buckle. The pin is present and made from round sectioned wire, flattened where it encircles the bar. In London buckles of the type have been found in 13th century contexts (Egan and Pritchard 1991, Fig. 44).
