Title
buckle
Description
English: A large ornate cast copper alloy 'lyre-shaped' buckle with an integral box chape. The pin is bent backwards and obscures the etched design on the box chape, which is likely to be a four petaled flower or an initial. The frame has a trefoil terminal and side scrolls with circular depressions on the outside edge of the frame. The box chae has two rivets and is rectangular in section.

Similar can be seen in Whitehead, page 37, no. 218.
