English: Preserved GW 0-4-2T with Devon Belle observation car at Buckfastleigh, Dart Valley Railway. Withdrawn in 1964 (see SO5058 : GW 0-4-2T in the Goods yard at Leominster), No. 1420 survived into preservation in 1969 on the Dart Valley Railway (South Devon Railway from 1991). The observation car is one of the two that were employed between Waterloo and Ilfracombe on the 'Devon Belle' from Summer 1947 until it ceased after Summer 1954, then for a few years were used in North Wales and Scotland. |
