English: Brynderwen Lock and Warehouse. The Montgomery Canal linked Newtown to the Llangollen Canal. The canal was important for the transport of coal and lime for the farming communities in the Severn Valley. The warehouse was built in the newly popular corrugated iron and operated by the Shropshire Union Railways & Canal Co. |
