Description

‘Glanoid’ is an early example of a hormone supplement used to treat anaemia, amenorrhoea, and menorrhagia. Its makers, Armour & Co. Ltd., was the London-based end of an American meat packing business that sold a wide range of animal products, including hormones.

Many hormones that were once extracted from animals can now be made synthetically.
