Description
English: Built in 1890, this Classical Revival-style warehouse building was designed by Edward S. Stebbins for the Brown & Haywood Glass Company. The red brick, buff brick, and rusticated brownstone building features rusticated brownstone pilasters on the ground floor framing storefronts with cast iron columns, arched windows on the first and third floors with buff brick surrounds, corbeling at the base of the 5th floor below brick reveal panels and arched windows, a sculpture of an indigenous person’s head in a large medallion on the facade facing 3rd Street, and a steel lintel above the first floor storefront. The building is a contributing structure in the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
