The Lace Exhibition IN the special exhibition of lace which the Museum openedin the spring the Rembrandt collection of ecclesiasticalvestments and embroideries, mainly Italian and dating fromthe fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, was brought out anewand re-installed in the rotunda on the top floor. The fine-ness of the velvet in cope and dalmatic, the beauty of theembroidery in altar cloth and stole, and the purity and rich-ness of color in these early fabrics of the Renaissance weredisplayed to great advantage in the well-lighted and spacioushall. Two recent additions to the Museums textiles wereshown with the Rembrandt vestments and for the first time;one the gift of Miss Theodora Wilbour, an English courtmantle of the end of the seventeenth century, the body of abeautiful grey green velvet, ornamented with silver stars,brilhant with paillett
