Summary

[edit]
Description Brooklyn Jesuit Prep School at 560 Sterling Place and 779 Classon Avenue in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, was built in 1910 as St. Teresa's School, connected with St. Teresa's Roman Catholic Church across the street. That school closed in 2002. In 1908, Brooklyn Preperatory School at 1150 Carroll Street was founded by the Society of Jesus, and provided Jesuit education in the borough until 1972, when it closed. Brooklyn Jesuit Prep began in the former St. Teresa's building with fifth and sixth grades in 2003, progressing to a full middle school in 2005, and graduating its first class in 2006. The school is tuition-free. (Source: School website)
