Description Arms of Brooke of Sarawak: Or, a cross per pale sable and gules bearing in the first quarter an estoile azure the shield ensigned with a five-pointed Eastern Crown of the first garnished with an onyx of the second and two rubies of the third ( Burke's Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry, 15th Edition, ed. Pirie-Gordon, H., London, 1937, p.255). Arms of sovereignty assumed by one of the Raja heirs of Sir James Brooke, Raja of Sarawak. Not registered at the English College of Arms, being arms of sovereignty. See letter written by J.P. Brooke-Little, Bluemantle Pursuivant of Arms, to Margaret Noble, 25 Jan 1967[1] The Brooke Trust
